There are certain stories in the news that defy reality, like this fellow who won the South Carolina Democratic Congressional Primary. Really?
The stories are so very bizarre that you think they just must be phony.
Such was a recent story about a guy from Viet Nam who attempted to smuggle something aboard a commercial airliner.
Given that lead-on, there is nothing all that unusual about the would-be criminal’s activity…until he hear a few more tidbits about this particular story. To wit,
“Droppings on [his] socks and feathers peeking out from under a pant leg tipped off a Los Angeles International Airport inspector.”
He was “given away by bird poop on his socks and fancy pants.”
He “wore an elaborate set of leggings with buttoned cloth wrappings, which held more than a dozen birds.”
His name is “Sony Dong.”
Just in case you missed that last one, his name is “Sony Dong.”
All the above facts can be corroborated by checking out the National Geographic News item. The story concluded with an unfortunate play-on-words with,
“Dong, who was charged with conspiracy, is currently free as a bird on bail.”
Thank you, Sony Dong, for providing us with this whimsical interlude.
So, what was in your pants, George?
