In a few minutes I’m out the door for a flight from SFO to Manila that, if I read my itinerary correctly, will take about two and a half days of flight time, or with the change in time zones, about three weeks.
I’m headed there to get down with it; not in the Getting Jiggy sense, but rather Finding Nemo.
As I was perusing for local news of any important travel updates, I discovered in an article on the Huffington Post that apparently I had just won the job as the new President of the Philippines,
“With his penchant for badly fitting shirts, dorky hair style, and complete lack of personal charisma, [he] appears the most unlikely person to win an election by a landslide.”
Given the description of the area as,
“…a country where crooks, charlatans, film stars, sportsmen and nut jobs routinely stand for, and get voted into office…”
Are you telling me, they are NOT talking about California?
(I know technically we are not a country…we just sometimes THINK we are.)
I could have taken a nice travel writers and photography workshop, had I been a little more timely in my travel plans.
Oh well, I assume I will have plenty to do with a few days of shore diving, to be followed by a week out at sea.
I may even get in a little cross training.
Updates to follow…
